Yuan Nie is an actor who was born in Zhenyuan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, on March 17, 1978. In 2000, he had a part in the film In the Wrong Marriage Chair but Married to the Right Man. In 2001 he had a part in World Granary. In 2004 he was selected as one of the Top 10 Actors at China’s Fifth Popular TV Awards Party for his role in Blood Sweating Horse, and together with Xiaoming Huang, Dawei Tong and Xiaotian Yin, were named by media as “Four New Chinese Actors”. In 2006 he played Hu Fei in Fox Volant Of The Snowy Mountain. In 2011 he played Monk Tang in Journey to the West, and due to this performance he won the Most Popular Actor award at the College Student Film & Video Festival. In 2011, he had a role in Forever Young When Devoted to the Revolution, which was a revolution-themed TV drama shot to celebrate the 90^th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). In 2013, he starred in Flying Swords of Dragon Gate. In 2012, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Third Macao International Film Festival for his role in The Lost Bladesman. In 2013 he played a leading role in Desperado and Return the Money, both of which were released during the New Year’s movie season. In 2014, he starred in Brotherhood of Blades. On December 28, 2018, he was awarded the Outstanding Actor Award and Best Performance by an Actor-Internet Drama at the Fifth Actors of China Ceremony.
